Obit: Bernie - Dawsy Mae Cooper, 86, of Bernie died Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996, at her residence.  Mrs. Cooper was born Nov. 16, 1909, in Bernie.  A homemaker, she was a member of the Church of Christ.  On Sept. 20, 1925, she married Lloyal R. Cooper in Bernie.  He died June 8, 1979.  Surviving are five sons, Rev. Don Cooper and Billie Cooper, both of Dexter, Travis Cooper and Roger Cooper, both of Bernie and Ardie Cooper of Milford, Kan.; six daughters, Geraldine Pyle of Dexter, Gloriaetta Beaird, Darlene McGowan and Bettie Dorris, all of Bernie, Cora Nettie Coker of Republic, Mo., and Janet Wood of Malden; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Tranna Bates of Phoenix, Ariz.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie.  The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Stan Dauck and Carnell Brittain officiating.  Burial will be at Bernie Cemetery.
