Obit: One of Texas County's oldest citizens died Dec. 19 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

She was Mrs. Nevada Smallwood, 91 years old.
She was born in Licking Jan. 16, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shipp.

She was united in marriage Aug. 20, 1902 to Joe Smallwood at Raymondville and lived most of her life in that community.
Mrs. Smallwood is survived by one son, Rufus, of Rolla; three grand children and two great-grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church and was widely known.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 21 at the Raymondville Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Shipp officiating.
Burial was in Allen Cemetery under direction of Evans-Elliott.

Obit: George Henry Stark, son of Robert and Rena Stark, was born at Eunice, Mo., June 5, 1882, and died near Raymondville, Mo., July 29, 1948, making his age at time of death, 66 years, one month and 24 days.

He was married to Nora Allen in 1902; to this union two children were born, Earnest and Celle. He was married to Nellie Barlet in 1909; to this union two children were born, Henry and Dorothy. She passed away in 1914. He was later married to Provie Willis. She passed away in 1942.

To this union nine children were born, Bernice, Lester, Chester, Mable, Beulah, Elsie, Eula, Donald and Jantil.
He leaves to mourn his passing 13 children, 35 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 31 at 3:00 p.m., at the Antioch cemetery near Hartshorn, by Mrs. Lillie Farrow. Interment in the Antioch cemetery under direction of Elliott Funeral Home.

Obit: Bessie Goldie Scheets, 51, daughter of Benjamin Cooper and Grace (Brannam) Cooper Ice, was born July 27,1932 at Houston.
She died April 3, 1984 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO.
She attended school at Brown Hill for eight years and attended Houston High School, graduating with the class of 1951.
She was united in marriage to Billy Scheets December 23, 1960.
Survivors include her husband, Billy; one daughter, Rosann Marie Scheets of the home; one son, Clarence Dean Scheets of the home;
her mother and stepfather, Grace and Calvin Ice of Houston; three brothers, Benny Dean Cooper, Mack Cooper
and Jack Cooper of Houston; one sister, Dollie Spencer of Summersville and a half-sister, Ruth Best of Lindsay, CA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Cooper, Jan. 3, 1981.
She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
She was employed at the Houston School cafeteria as long as her health permitted.
Services were April 6 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold
Smith officiating. Burial was in Central Baptist Cemetery.
