Mrs. Rosa Rebecca (Coats) Tilley

Mrs. Rosa Rebecca Coats, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Coats was born at Bado, Mo., Feb 3, 1878 and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Montgomery of Salem, Mo. Tuesday, January 14, 1947 having reached the age of 69 years.
She was united in marriage to Francis Tilley, March 5, 1915 and to this union 3 children were born. One having died in infancy.

Her husband preceeded her in death just 2 1/2 months ago and since then she had made her home with the son and the daughter, being at the daughter's home when she passed away. At the age of 18 years, she professed faith in Christ and united with the Union Baptist church. he leaves to mourn her passing the daughter, Mrs. Ruby Montgomery, Salem, Mo., the son Albert Tilley, Effingham, IL, one sister, Dressie Sponsler, Mtn. Grove, Mo., one brother, A. L. Coats, Bado, Mo., also 7 grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held by Rev. George Scott at Bado church Friday 2 p.m. Burial was made by the Elliott Funeral Home in Bado cemetery.

Myrtle Ann (Coats) Timmerman

Myrtle Ann Coats, daughter of the late James and Alice Douglas Coats was born near Cabool December 18, 1897 and departed this life November 25, 1972 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital at Houston following a short illness, her age being 74 years, 11 months and seven days.

On October 28, 1922 she was united in marriage to Fred O. Timmerman of Cabool and to this union two children were born. A daughter died in infancy.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers.

At a young age she united with the Christian Church and later transferred her membership to the Baptist Church. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Maness Memorial Baptist Church of Cabool. She was a great student and teacher of the Bible and many families of this area have gained much religious knowledge from her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, whom she loved to help so much in various ways.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Fred of the home, a son Fred, Jr., of Jefferson City, Mo., a sister Mrs. Lillie Dove of Denton, Tex., and two grandchildren.
Also other relatives and many friends and neighbors will miss her.

Funeral services were held 2:30 Monday in the Cabool First Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Jacobs officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under direction of Elliott-Gentry.

William Henry Teague
WILLIAM HENRY TEAGUE, HUSBAND OF NANCY ANN FIELDEN
William Henry Teague, son of James Willis and Hetty Elizabeth Teague, deceased, was born January 13, 1864, near Plato, Missouri and died February 5, 1954,
at Houston, Missouri, making his age at time of death 90 years and 23 days.
He was united in marriage October 21, 1883, to Nancy Ann Fielden.
To this union 5 sons and 6 daughters were born. Preceding him in death were 4 daughters, 1 son and his wife, Nancy, who passed away January 13, 1911.
He was reunited in marriage to Mary James, in August 1912, and she also preceded him in death.

At the age of 16 he united with the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church near Plato, later uniting with the Liberty Baptist Church at Turley and recently he had united with the Houston Baptist Church. For many years Mr. Teague was a member of the I. O. O. F. (Odd Fellow) Lodge at Turley, in which he attained the office of Venerable Warden.

He is survived by 4 sons, Dempsy and Herbert of Santa Ana, Calif.; Roy of Brea, Calif.; Gilbert of Pocahontas, Ork.?; two daughters, Mrs. H. M. Moss of Carthage, Mo.,
and Mrs. T. C. Jones of Houston; also 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Teague had lived most of his life in Texas County, making his home the last 18 years of his life with his daughter, Mrs. T. C. Jones. (Ola Jones)
Funeral services were conducted at the Houston Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 7, by Rev. Kirby Fletcher and assisted by the pastor, Rev. E. G. Walker.
Burial was in the Houston Cemetery under the direction of the Elliott Funeral Home of Houston.

MRS. TATE DIES
____?, wife of James Tate who suffered a stroke of ___? during the stock show several weeks ago, died at her home south of Cabool last Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. Mrs.
Tate never recovered from the effects of the stroke suffered several weeks ago, and no hope has been held out for her recovery. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon,
burial in Cabool cemetery. Mrs. Tate was born in Ohio, Oct. 4, 1861, being 58 years, 17 days of age at the time of her death. She leaves a sorrowing husband, several
children and a host of heart broken friends to mourn her demise. Mary L. Elliott, daughter of Daniel G. and Catherine E. Elliott, was born in Coshocton County, Ohio.
She was married at Houston, Missouri, Dec. 16, 1880 to James V. Tate. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Virgie Underwood, Mrs. Nellie Caylor (wife of Willis Charles Caylor)
and a son, who died in infancy.

Fred Otis Timmerman


Fred Otis Timmerman was born February 28, 1891, in Carroll County, Missouri, and died February 26, 1984, at Jefferson City, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 26 days. He was the fourth child of James and Mary Alice Menefee Timmerman. Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. In 1922, he was married to Myrtle Ann Coats of Cabool, who died in 1972. To this union was born one son, Fred Otis, Jr., of Jefferson city, and one daughter who died at birth. Timmerman attended Fredonia Business College, Fredonia, Kansas. He moved to the Cabool area in 1915 and lived there until moving to Jefferson City five and a half years ago to make his home with his son and family. He was a well known and much respected farmer and bookkeeper in the Cabool area for more than 60 years. Fred was a World War 1 veteran, a former member of the Cabool Kiwanis Club, and a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cabool and, later, the Manes (Maness?) Memorial Baptist Church, serving as deacon and clerk for many years. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Concord Baptist Church of Jefferson City. He also served as director and clerk of the Cabool School District for 20 years. Other survivors in addition to his son are two grandchildren, Mark Fred of Los Angeles, California, and Jerianne of Fulton, Missouri. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, in Elliott-Gentry Chapel with Rev. Frank Hill officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery.

Martha (Coats) Shelton Troutman
Daughter of Wilson Lafayette Coats
Martha Troutman, 98, daughter of Wilson Lafayette and Mary Alice (Burch) Coats, was born Dec 13, 1900. She died Jan 26, 1999, at National Health Care Center in Maryland Heights.

She was the sister of Wilson Coats, Willard Coats, Wilford Coats, Dorothy Coats Shelton, Orpha Coats Bridges and Pansy Coats Rippe. Mother of Everett Shelton, Orvil Shelton,
Grover Shelton, Gerald Shelton, Harold Shelton, Lynn Shelton, Myra Meredith, Stepmother of Darwin Troutman, Roy Troutman, Raymond Troutman, Wesley Troutman, Wayne Troutman, and Serena Elliott. Grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

Services were Jan 30 at the Evans Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Villapiano officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn cemetery.

ALBERT TILLEY, 79, of Effingham, Illinois, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham. Funeral services were at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Effingham. Mr. Tilley was born July 25, 1919, a son of Francis and Rosetta Coats Tilley. He married Caryl Parker on March 18, 1939. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Thomas Tilley of the state of Georgia; five daughters, Bev. Ross of San Diego, California, Barb Alsup of Champaign, Illinois, Theresa Stewart of Mattoon, Illinois, Cheryl Anderson of Milford Connecticut, and Kayla Manley of Olney, Illinois; a sister, Ruby Montgomery of Cabool, Missouri, 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Tilley was a supervisor at Fedders Corporation in Efffingham, He was a member of Cardinal Golf Course and Sportsman's Club, Effingham. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Gospel Assembly Church, Effingham.
