To his Excellency Andrew Johnson
President of the United States
The petitioner of the undersigned citizen of the County of Calawba in the State of North Carolina Aged Forty Three years, having a family consisting of a wife and four children. Applying to your Excellency having subscribed to the Amnesty Oath.
Applying to your Excellency for Amensty and pardon with restoration of all rights of property except as the slaves respectfully showeth unto your Excellency that your petitioner was a Sub tithing Agent at Newton N.C for the so called Confederate States of America as such is excluded from the benefit of your Excellency's Proclamation dated May 29th, A.D. 1865.
I therefore must respectfully ask your clemency in a full pardon the obligation of which my honor as a gentleman a citizen of the United States shall be strictly bound to observe in teh future. Your petitioner therefore as in duly bound ever prays that the within petition may be granted.

I, Lawrence Fry do solemnly swear, or affirm, in presence of Almight God, that I will henceforth faithfully support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and the Union of the States thereunder: and that I will, in like manner, abide by and faithfully support all Laws and Proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of slaves: SO HELP ME GOD.
