To His Excellency Andrew Johnson Pres. U.S Etheldred Green of the above State and County aged Sixty seven years humbly applies for pardon on the following State of facts.
He has taken the amnesty oath a copy of which is hereto annexed which he intends faithfully to keep and observe.
He is a man of small statue, comes under the first section of the exclusions fo the Amnesty Proclamation, having held the office of _____ in Franklin County. He to no other part in the war.
He prays for pardon on aforesaid

Green, , of Franklin County, State of North Carolina, do solemnly swear or affirm, in presence of Almight God, that I will henceforth faithfully support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Union of the States thereunder; and that I will in like manner abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the exisitng rebellion with reference to the emancipation of slaves. So help me God.
