Alice Pleasants Mitchell, 89
Alice Pleasants Mitchell, 89, of John Mitchell Road, Youngsville, died Saturday, April 24, at Raleigh Community Hospital. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Sarah Haswell Pleasants and William Pleasants. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen M. Mitchell; her daughter, Jewel Davis; and her grandson, Curtis Davis. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Sarah Lowery and her husband, Donald, of Youngsville; sons, Fred Mitchell and his wife, Betty, of Youngsville; Charles Barrett Mitchell and his wife, Barbara, of Durham; and Henry Carl Mitchell and his wife, Judy, of Youngsville; sisters Mable Bailey, Louise Bailey and Mattie Privette, all of Wake Forest; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday, April 26, in the Good Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were James Lowery, Charles Mitchell, Barry Mitchell, Don Davis, Jerry Davis and Dennis Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell, Steve Mitchell and Jeff Mitchell. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Hope Baptist Church Family Life Center, 4038 Graham Sherron Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
