Flynn, Paul Joshua
GIBSONVILLE — CW2 Paul Joshua Flynn, 28, formerly of Burlington Road, Gibsonville, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007, in Multaka, Iraq, while faithfully serving his country.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 31, at the Gibsonville United Methodist Church by Rev. David Greene and Rev. Jim Bowen. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery with military honors.
A native of Guilford County, he was the son of R. Deleno and Patsy Jones Flynn. He was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church, where he had been a Cub Scout and Boy Scout in Troop 265. He was a 1997 graduate of Eastern Guilford High School and was active in many outdoor sports, especially snow boarding and surfing. Josh was a helicopter pilot/co-pilot with Group D, 4th Squadron, 6th Aviation in the U.S. Army serving in Iraq. He had been voted "Pilot in Command".
Survivors include his son, Morgan Joshua Dean Flynn of Clarksville, Tenn.; parents, Deleno and Patsy Jones Flynn of Gibsonville; maternal grandmother, Marianne Jones of Gibsonville; uncles Jimmy Flynn of Gibsonville, Gary Jones of Florida and aunt, Susie Jones Stewart of Gibsonville.
Mr. Flynn will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the Gibsonville United Methodist Church, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the Morgan Flynn Endowment Fund, c/o any Fidelity Bank of NC.

"Eileen Marian Casey Francis, 76, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Greensboro, N.C., and Somerset, died Feb. 6, 1999, at Suburban General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 6, 1922, in Somerset, daughter of James Anthony and Marian Sipe (Gasteiger) Casey. Preceded in death by parents, and nephew, John M. Casey. Sister of James A. Casey Jr., married to the former Sarah McCance of (Bellevue) Pittsburgh; nephew, James A. Casey III of Webster Springs, W.Va.; and four great-nephews, James A Casey IV, John, Jacob and Joseph Casey. A 1940 graduate of Somerset High School. Received her bachelor of science, master's of science and doctorate degrees from Pennsylvania State University. Retired professor of home economics at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, N.C. World War II Veteran of U.S. Navy Waves and a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Somerset, American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, American Home Economics Association and North Carolina Home Economics Association. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Glenn E. Sadler officiating. Interment in Husband Cemetery. Contributions may be given to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 202 W. Union St., Somerset, Pa. 15501."
