Frame, two storiees and attic, two end chimneys each ead, brick Flemish bond. Facade five bays, side three bays. All sash nine over nine. Center door main front. Three by dwarf portico, Doric full entablature, triglyphs and metopes. Central hall, curved stair at rear. Pair of rooms each side.
History: Built 1836 for Rufus Reid by Stirewalt (?) Ref. Old Homes and Gardens of North Carolina, pl 80.
