Mason, Millie, Mrs. Aged 76 yrs. Wife of the late W.P. Mason , died Dec 3,1917. at her home on 5th St, Statesville. Survived by 4 sons and 4 daughers. Buried at the Friendship Church.

McClure, Goldie Harwell, Mrs. - age 22 years. Died at her home near Richmond, Va., Dec. 31, 1917. Burial at Rocky  Mount Church south of Troutman. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Harwell of Statesville. Survived by her husband, a daughter, 5 brothers  and 2 sisters

McLain, Florence Elder, Mrs.- age 33 years, wife of Walter McLain died Feb 9,1918 at her home on Davie Ave. Survived by her husband and several children. Buried in Taylorville.

Melchor, Charlie K - age 65 years,10 months, Died at his home on N. Brevard St in Mooresville July 14, 1917 Survived by his wife and one son C. Floyd Melchor and by 2 brothers W. W. and A. G Melchor all of Mooresville. The deceased was born and reared near Poplar Tent and moved to Mooresville about 30 years ago. He was the eldest son of the late Julius A Melchor,who died at Mooresville year ago. Buried at Mooresville Cemetery.

Mitchell, John F- age nearly 45 years, Died Feb 12,1918 at his home on Kelly St. Statesville. He was a superintendent of the public school of Iredell Co. Buried at Holly Springs Church. He was a son of Mr and Mrs. Frank Mitchell and was born in Eagle Mills Township. His wife the former Miss Ada Beaty of Yadkin Co. along with 3 children also surviving is his parents, a brother T. F Mitchell of Eagle Mills and 2 sisters Mrs. A F Mays of Statesville and Mrs. Elijah Smith of Eagle Mills.

Mitchell, T J (Jack) age 34 years, Died at his home near Jennings July 11, 1917. He was a son of James Mitchell who lived with them. Survived by his wife, the former.

Moose, Robert- aged 41 years, a patient at the state hospital in Morganton was killed by another patient July 23,1917. Buried in the Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville. Surivived by 3 sisters Miss Maggie Moose,Mrs Noah Evans and Mrs. Dan T. Morrison.

Murphy, John, Jr. - Colored. aged 37. Son of John Murphy, Sr., died Dec. 19, 1917 at his home on Davie Ave. He worked as a shoeshine in his father's barber shop. Survived by his parents, Several brothers and sisters. buried in the colored cemetery.
