Shirley Ann Helms Hunter SAVANNAH, GA - Mrs. Shirley Ann Helms Hunter, 69, of Ogeechee Road in Savannah died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in the Hospice of Savannah after an extended illness. Born October 9, 1940, in Union County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lee Noah Helms and Ruby Mae Manus Helms. She was a homemaker and a member of Gateway Community Church in Pooler, GA. Married to the late Franklin L. Hunter, she is survived by one son: Ricky L. Hunter, Sr. and wife Kathy of Pooler, GA; two daughters: Valicia H. Long Bess and husband Jimmy of Ridgeland, SC and Trudy H. Fisher and husband Mike of Springfield, GA; one brother: David Helms and wife Gayle of Lancaster, SC and three sisters: Dorothy Jean Faulkenberry and husband William, Linda Morris and Wanda McCaskill and husband Hugh, all of Lancaster. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as her sister-in-law, Helen Helms. He was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Helms. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010, at 11 AM at the Camp Creek Methodist Church on Highway 200 near Lancaster, SC, with burial following in the church cemetery.
