Peterson, Thomas Wade; Mr. Peterson, 77, of Charlotte died on March 27, 2009. He was born October 28, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Harry Fred Peterson and Irene Stuver Peterson. He graduated from Calumet High School in Chicago and earned a B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Arizona State University. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Tom was a Senior Engineer/Manager with IBM, both in San Jose, CA, and Charlotte, NC. During his early career with IBM, he was instrumental in developing the flying magnetic head for Disc Information in the first IBM computers and served as Engineering Advisor in the IBM legal division during the IBM/Memorex negotiations. He was a member of several sporting clubs, a former member of the Second Section Model Railroad Club, and for many years delivered Friendship Trays. Survivors include his wife Anne Darrington ('Dandy') McInnis Peterson of Charlotte; daughter Gayle Lynne Peterson of Chandler, AZ; son Mark Wade Peterson, wife Robyn, grandchildren Thomas Robert and Diana Darlene, all of Surprise, AZ; brother Richard Wayne Peterson and wife Barbara of Chicago, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law Berney and Claude Bridges of Atlanta, GA; Dorsey and Norman McInnis of Mobile, AL; and many nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Stockton, AL.
