JAIL-BREAKER CAUGHT. - Lucas Sparrow, a c. c., and one of those who were allowed to escape fromt he jail at Washington on the forth inst., came to this city and commenced some of his lightfingered tricks by going into a house on New street and borrowing therefrom a cloak. Sergeant Colligan, of the police force, happening to meet him at Vaughan's whiskey shop, took him in charge and locked him up securely in Crayen street jail, where he is subject to the order of the Sheriff of Beaufort county.

A colored woman, by the name of Betsy Merritt, hailing from Wilmington, was charged in Raleigh, a few days ago, with the crime of killing her infant child.
