22-February 1796.   Thomas Loyd and Susannah his wife of Orange to John Adams of same, three hundred and eighty pounds, 416 acres, where Thomas Loyd now lives and drawn as a prize in a lottery of John Hogan, being at a hickory in Baxter King’s line and William King’s corner, N 72 paces to a persimmon originally a red oak, E 105 paces to a Spanish oak William King’s corner, N with his line and by his corner 191 paces to a post oak in Matthew McCauley’s field, W 114 paces to a stone in the old field, N 174 paces to a white oak, W 70 ¼ paces to a black jack, S 174 paces to a red oak, W 51 ¾ paces to a post oak and black jack, S 263 paces to a turkey oak, E 131 paces to first station;  signed:  Thos. Lloyd Senr., Susannah Lloyd; witness:  John Kimble, Joseph Hastings, THOMAS BAKER; proved February term 1796 by Hastings.

22 February 1796.   Thomas Lloyd of Orange to John Adams of same, seventy pounds, 100 acres, join Matthew McCauley, Stephen Lloyd and John Hogan, on waters of NEW HOPE, begin at a red oak a corner of Matthew McCauley, N his line and by his corner 218 paces to a red oak, W 73 1/3 paces to a hickory, S 218 paces to first station;  signed:  Thomas Lloyd, Susannah Lloyd; witness:  John Kimbel, Joseph Hastings, THOMAS BAKER; proved:  February term 1796 by Hastings.

23 February 1796.   Joseph Hastings of Orange to Abner Tapp of same, ten pounds, 100 acres, about six miles from Hillsborough, on waters of Little Cain Creek of Haw River, adjoins Jonathan Thomas and Phillip Austin, begin at a post oak, S 26 ½ chains to a post oak, E 25 chains to a hicory, N 1 chain to a black oak, E 13 chains to a cherry tree, N 25 ½ chains to a black oak, W 38 chains to first station, originally entered in land office by John Richards; signed:  Joseph Hastings; witness:  ABNER BAILIFF; acknowledged February Term 1796.

29 September 1796.   JOHN BAKER to William McCauley, fifty pounds, 208 ½ acres, on waters of NEW HOPE , adjoins John Craig on W, begin at the mouth of a Great Branch, N meanders of branch to an ash, W 21 chains to a hicory, S 47 chains to a P., W 5 chains to a P., S 45 chains to a P., E 19 chains to an ash and boxelder on creek, down creek to beginning, willed by William Logan deceased to his daughter Elizabeth which became my wife; signed: JOHN BAKER; witness: Joseph Marshall, Jno. McCauley, George Long; proved February term 1796 by John McCauley.
