MRS. VERA JONES, ELIZABETH CITY
Mrs. Vera Brown Jones, 88, of Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City, died Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock in Winslow Memorial Home following a long illness. She was a native of Eastview, New York, and a former resident of Pleasantville, New York. Mrs. Jones was a retired teacher and a member of the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pleasantville, New York, daughter of the late John and Mrs. Anna Brown, and the widow of Dr. LeBaron W. Jones.
She is survived by one daughter Mrs. Evelyn Schmitt of south Nags Head; two step-sons Kenneth K. Jones of Pleasantville, NY; Russell K. Jones of South Salem, NY; two sisters Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Washburn; and Mrs. Ormond L. (Gertrude) Pinneo Sr., both of Pleasantville, NY; two grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Twiford’s Memorial Chapel in Elizabeth City has charge of arrangements.
