Fell Dead Administering Medicine.

Salisbury, N. C, Dec. 2.—Mr. John Eagle, Jr., a well-known citizen of Rowan County, dropped dead at his home near this city at an early hour this morning.
One of his children was sick, and Mr. Eagle arose from his bed to administer some medicine, when he suddenly expired from an attack of heart disease.

Elrod, Nathan Ross
ROCKWELL - Lance Cpl. Nathan Ross Elrod, 20, of Rockwell, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, while serving in Iraq.
Born April 21, 1986, in Rowan County, Lance Cpl. Elrod was the son of Timothy S. Elrod and Teresa Smith Elrod. A 2004 graduate of East Rowan High School, Nathan had been a member of the ROTC, Raider Team, Drill Team, Rappel Master and played soccer in his Senior Year.
He was an avid scuba diver and was a lifeguard. Nathan was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, 2nd Division, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, Weapons Company assigned as a Machine Gunner and deployed in Iraq.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, are brother Chris Elrod and wife Danielle of Charlotte; sister Shannon Elrod of the home; niece Morgan Elrod; paternal grandmother Helen Keim of Elkhart, Ind.; paternal stepgrandfather Ed Keim of Elkhart, Ind.; paternal step-grandmother Betty Elrod of Manchester, Tenn.; maternal grandmother Rachel Smith of Salisbury; and girlfriend Carrie Brown of Salisbury.
Service: Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church's Family Life Center, Rockwell, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Benny L. Vickrey Sr., pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery will Full Military Graveside Rites by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, and at the residence the remainder of the time
