Vernon B. Harris, 91, of 4484 N. Shallowford Rd., Dunwoody, Ga. died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.A Stanly County and Albemarle native, Vernon was born Nov. 9, 1917.He was a World War II veteran of the Navy and was retired. He was also a member of Chamblee First United Methodist Church, Chamblee, Ga.Vernon is survived by his wife, Ruth Morton Harris of Dunwoody; daughter, Susan (Harris) Meadows and husband Mike Lucas of Dunwoody and grandson, Harrison Meadows of Dunwoody.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at Fairview Memorial Park, Albemarle.Arrangements by Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
