Board of Trustees of the Raleigh Academy
December 2nd 1815.
Resolved that the Treasurer of this Board have power to give such notes or obligations as may be required for the payment of the instalments yet due on ninety shares of Capital Stock in the Bank of Newbern subscribed for by the Trustees of the Raleigh Academy, and on which 50 per cent has been paid—And such notes or obligations shall bind the funds of this Corporation. December last, I William Peace, as Treasurer of said Board, do hereby promise to pay, sixty days after the 19th day of June 1816, to the President and Directors of the Bank of Newbern, at their office of discount in Raleigh, the sum of Nine hundred dollars, with interest thereon from the 3rd. of July last—it being the eighth instalment for ninety shares of the Capital Stock of said Bank owned by the said Trustees.
