05 Jan. 1935 Durham.---Funeral services for D. Thomas Sasser, 66, well-known retired business man and father of Mrs. J. R. Holder of Raleigh, who died last night at his home, 2418 Club Boulevard, of heart disease will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home with the Elks lodge in charge. Interment will be made in Maplewood cemetery.
   Mr. Sasser was born and educated in the Goldsboro public schools, and a graduate of the Poughkeepsie Business College. In 1896, he moved to Durham and for 32 years served as manager of the Royal and Borden Furniture Company, Durham Branch. Later, he went into business for himself and retired because of illness. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist church and the Elks lodge.
   Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mrs. Junia M. Sasser; one son, Frank Sasser of Southport; two sisters, Mrs. C. D. Howell of Wilson, and Mrs. W. M. Bartlett of Goldsboro.
