EDWARD T. BURKE, associate Justice, was born in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1870, and came to this state with his parents in 1871; was educated in the public schools of Fargo and Sheldon, attended the state university at Grand Forks and later graduated from the state university of Minnesota. In 1893 he located at Valley City and in 1900 was elected state's attorney for Barnes county, and re-elected two years later. In 1904 he was elected Judge of the Fifth Judicial District. In 1908 he was re-elected without opposition. He was married in 1900 and has two sons. He was elected associate Justice in November, 1910. ALFRED P. HANSON, of the thirty-eighth legislative district, was born in Sweden, October 22, 1875. He came with his parents to the United States in 1876, locating near Benson, Minn., in which city he secured his education. He graduated from the Minnesota university in 1900. In 1903 he came to North Dakota as cashier of the First National Bank of Litchville, which is his home. He is married and has ne children. He was elected representative in 1910 and re-elected in 1912, as a republican.

C. F. MUDGETT, (Valley City), of the fifteenth legislative district, was born November 14, 1868, at Ravanna, Mo., and secured his education in the public schools of his home state. Came to North Dakota, April 12, 1883. Served a captain of Co. G, N. D. N. G. in the Spanish-American war, and was elected to his present position in 1912 as a republican. He is married and has five children, two sons and three daughters. He has been engaged in the lumber business for twenty-three years, but sold out last year.

FRANKLIN ELMER PLOYHAR, representative from the fifteenth legislative district, was born in Bristol. Ia., on April 18, 1878. In 1881 his parents removed to Wahpeton, N. D., where he attended the common and high schools. He came to Valley City in the fall of 1899; in 1905 he purchased the Valley City Alliance and continued its publication until the consolidation of The Times-Record and Alliance in August. 1907. Mr. Ployhar is married and has two children, both boys. He was elected as a republican to the house in 1908 and re-elected in 1910 and 1912.

MARTIN THORESON, of the thirty-eighth legislative district. Fingal, Barnes county, was born in Norway in 1856. and is married and has four sons. He came to North Dakota from Kristiana, Norway, in 1883, and is a farmer. Was a representative in 1905 and re-elected to the house in 1906 and again in 1908, as a republican, and was elected senator in 1910, as a republican.

GEORGE M. YOUNG, member of congress, Second District, Valley City, Barnes county, was born at Lakelet, Ontario, on December 11, 1870; is married. He came to North Dakota from Michigan in 1890 and is a lawyer. He was educated in the high schools of Orangeville, Ontario, and the law college of the University of Minnesota. Held the office of representative in 1901 and 1903 and was elected to the state senate as a republican in 1905. Was elected member of congress, 1912.
