JOHN BALSDON, Osnabrock, of the fiftieth legislative district, was born in Huron county, Ontario, February 28, 1866, and came to the United States in 1886, settling in Cavalier county, North Dakota. He has held various township and school offices. He is married and has five children. Was elected to the legislature as a republican.

FRED BORUSKY, Wales, of the eighteenth legislative district, was born at Collins Centre, Erie county, N. Y., in 1862. Received his education in the Chamberlain institute, Gowanda Academy, Oberlin and Hillsdale colleges. Came to North Dakota in 1886 and engaged in the occupation of teaching and is at present engaged in farming. Has held various minor school and township offices. He is married and has four children. He was elected representative as a democrat.

H. T. HELGESEN, member of congress, first district, was born on a farm near Decorah, Winneschiek county, Iowa, June 26, 1857; was educated in the public schools at Decorah, and at the Normal institute and Business College. In 1887 he moved to Milton, N. D. He served two terms as commissioner of agriculture and labor, being the state's first official in that office, and he has served three terms as a member of the board of regents of the state university. He is engaged in a general hardware and lumber business. He was married in 1880 and has three sons and four daughters. He was elected congressman in November, 1910, as a republican.

HENRY McLEAN, of the eighteenth legislative district, Hannah, Cavalier county, was born at Blaircessnock, Perthshire, Scotland, on December 5 1847; is married and has eight children. He came to North Dakota from Huron county, Ontario, in 1882, and is a farmer. Was educated in the common schools. Has held the office of county commissioner two terms, two terms as representative and has been a member of the senate since 1903, being a republican.

C. W. PLAIN, of the fiftieth district, was born in Aurora. Ill., March 10 1858. He was educated in his native town and came to Dakota in 1888, locating at Milton, where he is engaged in the machinery business. He was a member of the house in 1892, the senate from 1894 to 1899 and was re-elected in 1902, 1906 and 1910. He is a republican, is married and has three children.
