Grand Forks - August 20, 1887:
- A pleasant party, comprising Mr. and Mrs. S.W. McLaughling, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Cole, Rose, Ruth and arthur Cole. George D. Lay and Dr. Johnson, have returned from Devil's lake, where they have been camping.
- John B. Finke, of Dayton, O., arrived Thursday and will spend several weeks with his daughter, Mrs. Frank Gockey.
- Mrs. Alex Griggs left for Redwood Falls Wednesday evening to spend several weeks visiting friends.
- Miss Harriet Vandersluis entertained a number of her young friends at a birthday party Wednesday.
- Mrs. F.W. Iddings and children went to Arvilla Wednesday to spend a few days.
- Mr. and Mrs. George Batchelder are entertaining Frank Rollins, of Concord, N.H.
- Miss Blanche Hunter and Miss Duckie Griggs are spending a few days at Ojata.
- Miss Butman, of Minneapolis, is a guest of Rev. and Mrs. C.R. Upton.
- Mr. and Mrs. Grawlton, of LaCrosse, Wis., are guests of Mrs. C. Shields.
- Mrs. C.L. Baker will leave for her home in Canada in a few weeks.
- Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Elwood returned from Minneapolis Saturday.
- Mrs. Morris Haley is visiting her son, John Haley.

William Budge and son Alexander, came over from their home at Grand Forks last night. They left this morning for Brainerd and will go to Smiley, where they will join Jud LaMoure, the North Dakota political sachem, who has established an outing camp at that place.
