John H. Helmuth
Wishek, N. D., Aug. 16. – John H. Helmuth, a farmer of this community, had his neck broken and died almost instantly when a Ford car that he was driving overturned in a ditch seven miles west of Jamestown. Helmuth and his brother-in-law were returning from Fargo with some thresher repairs in a box in the back of the car. It is thought that the weight of the box caused the car to overturn.

Mrs. Frederick Hochhalter
Wishek, N. D., March 24. – Mrs. Frederick Hochhalter, Jr., wife of a farmer living near Zeeland, committed suicide by shooting herself in the head. Her husband had gone to the barn to attend to some work, leaving his wife sewing at the machine. Shortly after he had left the house the husband was startled by a shot, and returning found the woman dead with a gunshot wound in her forehead. She evidently had taken a shotgun from the wall, had rested the gun against the sewing machine and pulled the trigger by means of a string fastened to the treadle of the machine. The shot made a terrible wound, her brains being scattered about the room. The woman arrived in America from Russia last fall and had been married but a short time. No reason is known for her suicide.
