J. West Whitford
Died—West Whitford of Devil’s
Lake, North Dakota, a brother of William Whitford, who came out here
this spring for his health, was taken with a hemorrhage of the lungs
last Friday and died Friday evening at the home of his nephew, Clarence
Cray. The body was taken to Chester (Montana) on Sunday, and from there
it was taken to his home in Devil’s Lake and interred in the cemetery

Judge William Orr, one of the
old and honored citizens of Devils Lake, died there on Tuesday morning.
Frozen To Death
Caught In The Blizzard They
Perish From Cold
Grand Forks, N. D., March 10.
– A man named Nugent was
frozen to death by the blizzard.
Devils Lake, N.D., March 10. –
William Griffin, a farmer, was
caught by the blizzard while returning home from town and frozen to
death. Others are reported missing, and searching parties are out for
them.
Grafton, N.D., March 10. – A
man and team were frozen to death here during the blizzard. Others came
near suffering the same fate. The storm did great damage here.
