Blaine
County Old Settlers
Brewster, Nebraska, September 23 – Special -- The Old Settlers’ Association of Blaine
County, held last Friday, September 10, in Brewster Hall, was a grand success.
The attendance was not large, but many old citizens made
interesting speeches, full of humorous stories and incidents of frontier
life. The vocal and instrumental music
was the best, and the basket dinner would equal anything gin older settled
portions of country, all creating an impression not soon to be forgotten by
those present.
More than fifty persons registered their names. The old officers were reelected. George W. Brewster, president and William M.
Scott, secretary.
Dry weather and short crops have not prevented this from
being the banner county in central Nebraska,
for hay, corn, all root crops and watermelons that weight sixty pounds.
