My grandfather John Moses Clapper was raised by his uncle Thomas E. Moore in your area before 1900.

Uncle Ed (Thomas E. Moore) had a homestead (40 acres and a mule) after the civil war in either the Village of Sumner or Kearney.  He also had a dry goods store in either Sumner or Kearney.

Thomas E. Moore’s wife died in 1913 and her death certificate lists her address as 306 East 26^th Street, 4^th Ward, Kearney, Nebraska.

I searched a website of Buffalo County register of deeds, found a site for land grants, found an entry for Thomas Moore.  I had this legal :  Deed Book and page 55-63,   N1/2   N1/2   2-12-14  .

Does anyone recognize their names, home or the old store?  Any information would be very much appreciated.
