My grandfather John Moses Clapper was raised by his uncle Thomas E. Moore in your area before 1900.
Uncle
Ed (Thomas E. Moore) had a homestead (40 acres and a mule) after the civil war in either the Village of Sumner or Kearney. He also had a dry
goods store in either Sumner or Kearney.

Old Home In Kearney

Thomas E. Moore’s wife died in 1913 and her death certificate lists her address as 306 East 26th Street, 4th Ward, Kearney, Nebraska.
I searched a website of Buffalo County register of deeds, found a site for land grants, found an entry for Thomas Moore. I had this legal : Deed Book and page 55-63, N1/2 N1/2 2-12-14 .

Does anyone recognize their names, home or the old store? Any information would be very much appreciated.
