Lutheran Synod at West Point

West Point, Nebraska, August 21. -- The annual session of the Nebraska district
of the German Evangelical Lutheran Missouri Synod was opened this afternoon in
the new church at Cuming post office, Rev. Harms, pastor, and will continue until
August 27.
Over a hundred ministers, forty parochial school teachers
and sixty Iny delegates are present, enjoying the hospitality of the members of
the local church.
Rev. C. Schmidt of St. Louis, the venerable vice president
of the Missouri Synod, delivered the opening sermon. Among other speakers for the week is the Re
Prof. R. Ricker of Concordia Seminary, Springfield, Illinois.
Anew $3000 pipe organ has been installed in the church and
on this Dr. Minor C. Baldwin of New York City will give recitals Thursday,
Saturday and Sunday. Five services will
be held during the synodical convention.
