General Joseph Mollman Dies on His Nebraska Farm

 

Emerson, Neb., July 6 -- General Joseph Hollman died last night at his residence here.  

 

He was born in Willimsport, MD., in 1825, removed to Nebraska in 1861 and settled on a homestead near Dakota City.

Freda Irene Nelson Astoreca    

Freda Irene Astoreca, 83, Nyssa, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004, at home at Nyssa Gardens 
Assisted Living Facility. Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2004, at New Life Christian 
Church, 404 N. Third St. Nyssa.  Private family burial will follow in Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise.
Freda was born March 19, 1921, in Emerson, Neb., the daughter of Walter and Goldie Nelson. She 
lived in Nebraska and Missouri before moving to Oregon in 1947.

She married Gabriel Astoreca, May 14, 1953. She worked as a waitress before deciding to become a 
nurse. She attended the nursing program at Treasure Valley Community College and became an LPN. 
She worked for Dr. Sarazin in Nyssa, at Pioneer Nursing Home, Vale and as an industrial nurse at 
Ore-Ida, Ontario until her retirement.

She enjoyed reading, playing bingo and being with her family and friends.

Freda is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Norma and Sam Houston, Hermiston, Bonnie 
and Don Beckstead, Boardman, Audrie and Doug Tracy, Nyssa and Carmen Robbins, Hermiston; son
and his wife, Ed and Rhonda Lowtrip, Eugene; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-
great-grandchildren; and a brother, Elliott Nelson, Rancho Cordova, Calif.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; a sister and two grandchildren.
