Life on the Putnam Homestead - Farm
Homestead and farm of Will and Bessie Putnam.

Bessie has just fed the chickens and La Vella Mae (about 5 years old) is on the horse, Buster.  Genevieve (Putnam) Wesman is walking.

This farm is about eleven miles north of Haigler in Dundy County, Nebraska.  Uncle Lell and Aunt Cassie's place was just a little way north.

The Putnam Farm - 1996
On March 13, 1927 there was a snow storm that piled the drifts 7 feet over the tops of the cherry trees north of the Putnam house located eleven miles north of Haigler, Nebraska..

This was the method used before the combine arrived in the area.
