Rollwitz Cemetery
![]() Rollwitz Cemetery Burials Arranged by last name, then first This abandoned cemetery is located in Dundy county, NE, about 18 miles north/northwest of Parks, NE. It is on the southwest corner of the intersection of Rd 720 and Ave 325. There are no grave markers, only this monument. Belle Frasier (Mrs. Wilbur) was primarily responsible for the erection of this monument. No records are available. Known burials are listed below. GPS reading: North 40 degrees, 15.845 minutes; West 101 degrees, 46.724 minutes. Elevation: 3,424. Everett
Sutton notes: “Five acres were set aside by Elmer Hester about 1908 for
a non-denominational church and a cemetery. First known as Valley
Center Church and Cemetery. With the naming of the Bert Horn store at
Rollwitz, the name of the church and cemetery was changed to Rollwitz.
Mrs. Krutsinger and Mrs. Etta Shrum Hester say that there were two or
three burials at this place before the Hesters came. They do not recall
names but often seen them as driving past before the cemetery was
organized. There are no burial records and there are no marker stones.
There was a small stone, unmarked, said to be the burial of Hiram
Mulvaney who worked for Krutsinger, seen by the Historical Society tour
in 1967, but it too had disappeared by 1974
