The infant child of F. L. Hammond and wife, who have been visiting here for the past week, died very suddenly Thursday afternoon and was buried Friday.

Rev. Father Peter McLaughlin   

 

Ellsworth, Neb., June 10. – The Rev. Father Peter McLaughlin, who died at Hyannis Tuesday and who was buried at Alliance today, was one of the oldest priests in the Grand Island diocese.

 

Father McLaughlin was well known among the old timers in Omaha and the eastern part of the state, as he had officiated at old St. Philomena’s Cathedral and St. Peter’s Churches more than a quarter century ago. He was pastor of the Hyannis parish, which included Ellsworth, Lake Side, Antioch and Hoffland.

Oscar Wright   

 

Hyannis, Neb., March 1. – Oscar Wright died here Saturday, the day after the burial of his wife, as the result of shock caused by her death. His funeral was Sunday. Mrs. Wright was 66 years old.

 

The Wrights formerly lived in Seward County.

Mr. J. S. Goldsmith   

 

Mr. J. S. Goldsmith, who has been staying on F. G. Mason’s ranch, about fifteen miles north of Hyannis, died very suddenly of heart failure last Saturday. He went out in the morning with his team to feed the cattle, and as the team came home without him a search was made, and he was found dead on the haystack.
