The Fairbury Cemetery is located in Section 24, Fairbury Precinct. From Fairbury, go south on K Street (Hwy 15) and over the 1st viaduct. Turn left at the bottom of the viaduct, and then take the 1st left just after the turn, onto the PWF Road. Go east past the fairgrounds and the cemetery will be on the south side of the road, at the intersection of the PWF Road & 569th Ave.
This is the largest cemetery in the county, with over 15,000 burials. It is the only cemetery serving Fairbury, and is the only known cemetery in Fairbury Precinct. The original site of the city cemetery was in Fairbury near 7th & K Streets, but it was relocated to it's current site before 1900. It is well maintained and unfenced. There are three entrance gates, 2 on the north side off the PWF, and one on the west side off of 569th Ave. The oldest burials are in the east end, and the newest plots are on the south side. The Superintendant's office is located on the south side of the cemetery. The Fairbury Public Library has an alphabetized index book and cemetery map to aid in finding graves.
I have taken some scattered photos of graves in various areas of the cemetery, I will place them online as time permits.
