Silver Creek Cemetery
Jefferson Co Nebraska

Silver Creek Cemetery is located in Section 18, Antelope Precinct. From Fairbury, travel south and west on Hwy 8 to 565th Ave. Turn south and continue south about 3 1/2 miles. The cemetery sits on the southwest corner of the intersection of 565th Ave & King Road.
This cemetery is in fairly good condition and had been recently mowed when I visited. There are a few older stones and temporary markers that were broken or fallen. It is fenced and gated but unlocked. At one time there was a church here. The cemetery & church records were destroyed by fire when the home of Ira Mann, custodian of the records, burned down. This is a complete listing of all stones found in September 2008, with additional information found in obituaries and funeral home records.
Row & Grave Numbers: Row #1 Grave #1 is in the northwest corner of the cemetery. All stones were read from north to south, rows read west to east. Some of my row/grave numbers may be incorrect and I will try to visit the cemetery and correct them.

Notes: 1If this is the correct death date, then I do not believe he is buried here. I believe it is incorrect as the family, including William, is found in the 1880 census of Effingham Co, Illinois. William is not found in the 1900 census, although wife Mariah & children are in Jefferson Co.
