The Steele City Cemetery is located in Section 17, Newton Precinct. From Fairbury, go south and east on Hwy 8 to 577th Ave, about 3/4 of a mile past the Steele City turn. Go north on 577th Ave about 1/4 mile. The cemetery is to the north and east. This cemetery is well maintained and is still active, with an active cemetery association established in 1871. It is quite large, and is the only cemetery serving the Steele City area. It is also the only known cemetery in Newton Precinct.
