Francis Diller

On the 14th of August, 1879, about 9 o'clock in the evening, at his home in Fairbury, Nebraska, Francis Diller passed quietly to that bourne from which no traveler returns.

A good man, full of years, of good deeds and sympathy for his fellow creatures has gone and is mourned by all. No prouder epitaph can be written. Born in Cumberland County, Pa., August 18th, 1811, where he lived pursuing the vocation of a farmer until his emigration to Nebraska in 1874. He married in early life and had born to him ten children, seven of whom are living, four in this (Jefferson) county-Henry H., Jacob K., Andrew and Mattie (Mrs. Hedges). Since his residence in this city Mr. Diller led a quiet life with his aged wife who survives him, surrounded by his children, to each of whom he gave a just portion of his substance. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of mourning friends.
