John Friesen
P.I. Friesen of Jansen received word last Sunday that his brother, John Friesen, had committed suicide in Denver by taking carbolic acid. Mr. Friesen left at once for Denver. Deceased was a son of Peter R. Friesen, who died at Jansen some time ago. His mother died in a Kansas hospital a few years ago. John Friesen was a carpenter and worked in the Fairbury Planing Mills for several years before leaving for Denver. He has a wife and two daughters. The wife was divorced from him some time ago. From what can be learned, excessive drinking was the cause of his downfall. He was about 40 years old. [The Fairbury Journal, Friday, March 8, 1912]
