P.I. Friesen of Jansen received word last Sunday that his brother, John Friesen, had committed suicide in Denver by taking carbolic acid. Mr. Friesen left at once for Denver.

Deceased was a son of Peter R. Friesen, who died at Jansen some time ago. His mother died in a Kansas hospital a few years ago.

John Friesen was a carpenter and worked in the Fairbury Planing Mills for several years before leaving for Denver. He has a wife and two daughters. The wife was divorced from him some time ago. From what can be learned, excessive drinking was the cause of his downfall.
