Cordelia Mulinix

Cordelia Amandy Mulinix (nee Tomlison) was born May 28th, 1847, at Springfield, Ills. She was married to John Belton Mulinix in 1866. In the year 1879 they came to Nebraska. To them were born nine children, the oldest died in infancy. Father Mulinix died at their home in Daykin, Sept. 10th, 1918. Grandma Mulinix passed away at the home of her son, Geo. Feb. 17th, 1919, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 20 days. She leaves to mourn her loss six sons, John Belton, William, Edward, Fields, Charles, George, and two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Mumma and Mrs. Lizzie Houck. Also 26 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Grandma Mulinix was a member of the Christian church while in Illinois. She served her Lord in her quiet and unassuming way.

John B. Mulinix

John Belton Mulinix passed away at his home in Daykin, Nebr., Sept. 10, 1918, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 14 days.

He was born in Macon, Georgia, and served 3 years in the 1st Calvary of that state during the Civil War. At its close he came to Springfield, Ill. In 1866 he was married to Cordelia Amanda Tomlinson.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, 6 sons, 2 daughters, 26 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Their oldest child, a daughter, died in infancy. Their oldest son, John Belton, lives in Seattle, Wash., William, Joliet, Ill., Edward, Daykin, Nebr., Fields and Charles, Alexandria, Mrs. F.K. Mumma, Minatare, Nebr., George and Mrs. William Houck, Daykin.

In 1879 he came with his family to Nebraska and has made this state his home.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Sept. 13th at his home. Burial in the Daykin cemetery.
