Dora Payne

Mrs. Ira Payne of Reynolds died Tuesday morning, April 12, 1927, at a local hospital, following severe burns which she sustained last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Payne were burning the weeds in their garden last Wednesday at their home farm, 1 mile west and a half mile north of Reynolds, when Mrs. Payne's clothes caught fire. She was severely burned before the flames could be extinguished.

Mrs. Payne was born in Brunersburg, Ohio, April 13, 1859, and died at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 29 days. She is survived by her husband, a son of Pond Creek, Okla., a daughter, Mrs. R.C. Beachler of Reynolds and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church in Fairbury and burial in the Fairbury cemetery.

Nathan C. Peirson

Nathan C. Peirson died at the home of his son, Howard Peirson, in this city December 24, from diseases incident to old age. He was aged 65 years, 5 months and 27 days. He was born in Randolph county, Indiana and came to Jefferson county in 1868 taking up a homestead near Powell, and had lived in this county ever since. He was a carpenter by trade.

Mr. Peirson leaves three sons and two daughters, H.S. Peirson of Fairbury, C.O. Peirson of Cadell, Kans., E.G. Peirson of Alexandria, Mrs. W.E. Schell of York and Mrs. S.K. Pittman of Alexandria.

The funeral was held at the M.E. church at Powell on Saturday, conducted by Rev. J.M. Haskins of Spring Valley church. The remains were interred in the Powell cemetery.

Samuel Pletcher

Death of Samuel Pletcher
Samuel Pletcher died at his home, seven miles north of Fairbury, on Thursday, September 28, 1916, at 9:30 a.m., after a years illness with heart trouble and dropsy. He was confined to his bed the last three weeks of his life.

Deceased was born April 29, 1846, in Indiana and died at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 29 days. He was married in Illinois to Emaline Schultz. Five children survive, Mrs. Ollie Williams, Eldorado, Kans.; Will P. Fletcher, Alexandria, Nebr.; John P. Fletcher, White City, Kansas; Grace, wife of O.M. Frost and Lida, wife of George Boddye, both of Fairbury, Nebr.

Mr. Pletcher came to this state thirty-six years ago. During this time he lived on a farm. He was connected with the United Brethern church at Richland Center, where funeral services were held Saturday at one o'clock. Burial was in the cemetery at Alexandria. Rev. Foster of the U.B. church conducted the funeral services, at which all of the children were present and also a sister, Mrs. Joe Schultz of Orleans, Nebr.

Jonathan Potts

Jonathan Potts Dies in Lincoln
The remains of Jonathan Potts, an old resident of Gage county who passed away at Lincoln Sunday, were brought here yesterday for interment. Funeral services will be held from the Pheasant church west of the city today at 2 o'clock.

The deceased located on a homestead ten miles west of the city in 1866, where he resided until a short time ago when he went to Lincoln to receive treatment. He was eighty-two years of age and a veteran of the civil war. He is survived by three daughters and three sons.

Margaret Price

Mrs. J. Price died at her home a half mile east of Steele City Sunday morning, after a lingering illness extending over two years. She was aged fifty-six years. The funeral was held from the house Tuesday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Steele City cemetery. Mr. Price is a farmer.
