Mr.
and Mrs. Daniel Davidson an aged couple
living here, celebrated their fiftieth wedding
anniversary,
or gold wedding this Monday evening.
A
large crowd of their friend and acquaintances
were present and assisted the old couple
to remember their younger days past and
gone.
The
presents consisted of a pair of gold spectacles
for each and three $10 gold pieces.
Hon.
J. H. Mickey delivered the speech of the
evening.

Myrtle Wheeler, a talented teacher in the
Osccola schools, was surprised
by
her many friends walking in and assisting
her to celebrate her birthday anniversary
last
Saturday evening.

Pleasant time was had, a nice lunch served,
and all retired

their homes feeling happy.

for the last week, but at present is
reported
convalescing.

Polk
County has not many drought sufferers, but
those who are in need will be assisted to
procure need grain, etc. The county
commissioners will float sufficient bonds
for this purpose should the bill now before
the legislature becomes a law.
Probably
$8,000 will be all that will be necessary.

musical instructor and will undoubtedly

School Graduates

People Get Diplomas at Several Nebraska
Towns

Dispatches to the World Herald
Stromsburg,
Nebraska -- The annual commencement
of the high school was held in the opera
house yesterday. The graduates gave
their program in the afternoon. In
the evening Professor L. M. Hodgman of the
State University delivered a lecture. The
music for both occasions was conducted by
Mrs. J. A. Prawley. The list of graduates
