Annual Reunion
The sixteenth annual reunion was held in the Baptist Church parlors on Sunday July 3rd.
The usual fried chicken dinner was served at 1 o’clock.
The president, L. L. Lewis, had died during the year. William Winter, vice president, presided.
The singing of “Blest Be the Ties that Binds” opened the
afternoon session. It was followed by a
prayer by Rev. Wilkin.
The readings of the 1948 minutes were approved.
A letter from Ruth Wilkin of Istanbul, Turkey
was read by Rev. Wilkin.
The acting president called upon the group to express
themselves.
The program was short.
Barbara Jean Mosley sang “Yankee Doodle”, accompanied by her
mother. Little Gayla Jo and Karen Winter
came prepared for the program but decided to wait until next year.
Moved by Rev. Wilkin that William Winter be elected
president. Motion carried.
Moved by Rev. Wilkin that Lewis Winter be elected
secretary. Motion carried.
Moved by Margaret Winter Mosley that Rev. Wilkin serve as
Chaplain. Motion carried.
Moved by Sadie Winter that Richard Winter serve as program
chairman. Motion carried.
The song “God Be with You ‘Til We Meet Again” was sung by
the group. Prayer by Rev. Wilkin.
Moved by Richard Winter that we adjourn. Motion carried.
