Annual Reunion
Wednesday, July 4th was one of the most
delightful days that we have ever observed our annual Lewis reunion on. This was our twenty-third reunion.
At one o’clock a bounteous buffet dinner was served to the descendants
of William and Sarah Lewis.
After the dinner the president Lewis Winter opened the
meeting with a prayer by Sadie Winter. There was group singling led by Fred
Winter with Alvena Winter at the piano.
Lewis welcomed the thirty-one guests present and saying how
much we missed John and Jessie Aukes who were unable to be present, also Nell
Andreas who is in a rest home in Crete.
Minutes of July 4th 1955 were read and approved.
Greetings were read from Lena Wheeler of Dewitt, Richard
Winter, Wichita Kansas
and Dr. and Mrs. L. Winter of Phoenix,
Arizona.
It was voted to retain all the old officers.
Alvena Winter reported that a son, Tod Fenton had been born
March 25. The parents are Claudeen and
David Geistlinger and that Marilyn Jane Miller was wed to Allen Thomson, April
29, 1956.
Lewis asked all present to write Nell Andreas in the Sysel
Rest Home.

The president called on all families present for a few
words.
Percy Hall said how happy they were to be present.
Alvena Winter told of the brief visit of their daughter Lois
on her way to the east coast and that their son Fred was in Denver this summer working.
Anne Armour reported that their daughter Francis of
California was much improved in health.
Rollie Winter, Les Mosley, Archie White, Betty Freeborn and
Dick Stone each expressed pleasure at being able to attend.
Claude Wheeler asked for copy of 2nd annual
meeting and said their daughter who was 19 years old the 3rd of July
was working in Colorado
for the summer
The group then sang songs led by the children and were
dismissed by a prayer by Lewis Winter.
