25th
Annual Reunion
Friday, July 4th marked the 25th
anniversary of the Lewis family reunion held at the Baptist Church
parlors.
A bounteous dinner was served to the forty three members
presented.
After the dinner a short business session followed.
Minutes of the July 4th 1957 meeting were read
and approved.
Archie White of Fremont,
led in prayer and Betty Freeborn and Margaret Mosley presented the following
program.
Peggie White played a piano solo
Peggie and Dennie White and Cindy Winter sang
Robbie Freeborn sang, “Jesus loves the Little Children”.
Piano solos were played by Pamela Winter, Leslie Anne
Mosley, Barbara Jean Mosley, Karen Winter, Kathy Freeborn and Charles Wheeler.
Jean Freeborn played a Clarinet solo accompanied by Kathy
Freeborn.
The president Lewis Winter expressed our appreciation to the
entertainment provided by the children.
A letter was read from Dr. and Mrs. J. Aukes of Red Cloud
who were unable to attend due to John’s illness. They were greatly missed.
Alvena Winter reported that Richard had planned to be with
us but was unable to due to a bus strike and that Fred of Pawnee City has
charge of their recreation program so could not attend and that Lois was
attending Summer School.
Anne and Ern Armour told of their daughter Frances’ husband
soon return to the states.
Lena Wheeler said al of her family were well and busy.
Sherril daughter of Claude Wheeler said she was a senior in
University and announced her engagement.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Stone of Comstock expressed their
appreciation of being able to attend.
Betty Freeborn brought the cousins round robin letter so
that all who wished to could read it.
Dr. and Mrs. L. Winter said they had met Dr. and Mrs. R.
Winter at the medical convention in San
Francisco and that they had sent greetings.
It was voted to continue the reunion and to retain the old
officers.
Alvena Winter said two new names had been added to the
family tree, a son born to Gene Wiegers, son of Helen and Hermie Wiegers of Seattle, and a daughter
born to Claudeen, daughter of Lena Wheeler.
After the 6 o’clock supper some of the group went to the
Fred Winter home to look at past reunion pictures.
