6th Annual Reunion

 

The sixth annual reunion of the Lewis Family was held in Western Sunday, July 2.

 

A one o’clock dinner was served to 47 descendents of William and Sarah Lewis who established a home here in the early seventies.  Mrs. T. J. Hatfield of Long Beach, California, and Messrs. Jesse and L. L. Lewis of here, the only surviving members of the original family, were present.

 

The following program was presented:

    Solo, “Yield Not To Temptation;” Mildred Lewis

    Recitation, “The Little Cans,” Fern Lewis

    Solo, “God Bless America,” Claudine Wheeler

    Recitation, “Jack and Jill,” Sharoll Wheeler

    “Sing A Song of Sunbeams.” Lois Winter

    Piano Solo, “Barcarolle,” Mary Ellen Armour

    Solo, “The Old Fashioned Garden,” Joan Carol Wheeler

    Mrs. Fred Winter and Miss Elaine Winter presided at the piano during the program.

     

Mrs. Nellie Andreas, family historian, read the history of the family.  The family tree has been traced back to the Revolutionary War.  A family tree showing all the names and marriages was drawn by Miss Margaret Winter.

 

Fred Winter again took motion pictures of the group.

 

A lunch was served in the evening after which Fred Winter showed pictures, among which were those taken at the last reunion.
