7th Annual Reunion

 

The 7th annual reunion of the Lewis Family was held in the Baptist Church Parlors, July 4, 1940.

 

A one o’clock dinner was served to fifty-three members of the family.  Group singing was led by Ruth Wilkin.

 

The following program was presented:

 

Prayer – Rev. Wilkin

 

    Duet “God Bless America” – Gloria and Eugene Wiegers

    Trombone Numbers – Lewis Aukes – accompanied by his mother

    Piano Solo – “Long, Long Ago” – Joan Carol Wheeler

    Recitation – Sherrill Wheeler

    Solo – “Ho, Mr. Piper” – Margaret Winter

    Piano Solo – “Fifth Nocturne” – Mary Ellen Armour

    Recitation and Solo – Claudine Wheeler

    Solo – “Woodpecker’s Song” – Frederick Dale Winter

    Whistling Solo – Lois Winter

    Mrs. Fred Winter and Elaine Winter presided at the piano.

     

The family historian, Mrs. Nell Andreas, read the family history.

 

Four generations groups were represented in the families of L. L. Lewis and Jesse Lewis.

 

All seven children of the late Frederick and Nancy Lewis Winter were present.

 

Motion pictures of the group were taken by Fred Winter.

After the supper hour, the group went to the Fred Winter home where a picture show and motion pictures of previous reunions were shown.
