William E. Clarke
Funeral of Wm. E. Clarke
The funeral services of William E. Clarke, who died Monday morning, were held at the home of his father, Hon. Henry T. Clarke, in this city, Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock and were attended by a large number of Omaha, Lincoln and Sarpy county friends.
The services, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mackay of All Saints' church, and the Rev. Dr. Reilly, of St. Matthias church, were simple and impressive.
Only the immediate members of the family attended the interment at Forest Lawn.
The pall bearers were Messrs. Fred White and J.E. Houtze of Omaha, and Messrs. William Morrison, Robert Joyce, Lon Marshall, C.Y. Smith and Matt Baldwin, Lincoln.
Mr. Clarke was born in Bellevue, Neb., November 13, 1867. For the greater part of his business career he was identified with the H.T. Clarke Drug company in Lincoln and Omaha, as a large stockholder and officer. Subsequently he acquired a large ranch and feeding farm in Butler county where he lived until the past two years. He returned to his home this summer after traveling in search of health for a year and half in Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and California. He was a quiet, earnest young man, who made firm friendship and who stood high in the regard of all his associates. His friends were legion.
