Sarpy County Stockman
Richard Danells, a Famous Cattle Raiser, Dies in Chicago

Special Dispatch to the World-Herald.
Gilmore, Neb., Dec. 1 - Richard Danells, aged 74, one of the oldest settlers of this county, died at an early hour this morning of heart failure. Mr. Danells had gone to Chicago in company with Thomas Mortimore, a nephew, and Former Governor Packard of Iowa. The party went direct to the Wyoming hotel, where Mr. Danells was taken ill. He expired shortly afterward.

Richard Danells had been a resident of this county since 1856, coming directly from his home in England. He was a very wealthy man and fine stock breeder and will be remembered by many of the earlier settlers as the rancher who carried off all prizes for Christmas beef in the earlier competitions held yearly in Omaha.

He was a widower, his wife having died two years ago.
