Anthony Langdon Dies; In Papillion 40 Years

Began Practice of Law There in 1889 After Graduating from University of Nebraska

Papillion, Neb., Aug. 19 - Anthony E. Langdon, 66, an attorney here for 40 years, died at an Omaha hospital Sunday. He was once county judge here.

Born in Gretna, Neb., Mr. Langdon was graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1887 and was admitted to the bar in 1889, coming to Papillion to practice.

He was a close friend of the late W.J. Bryan. During the world war he was made a commissioner of relief work by President Wilson.

He is survived by a son, Harold A. Langdon of Omaha, and two daughters, Mrs. James T. Allan of Omaha and Mrs. H.A. Neville of Bethlehem, Pa., who were with him when he died.

John Langdon of Gretna is a brother. Mrs. John Hughes of Gretna, Mrs. James Doyle and Miss Katherine Langdon of Omaha are sisters.

Mr. Langdon was a charter member of the Modern Wooden at Papillion.

The funeral will be held at 8:30 o’clock Wednesday morning from the home of the daughter in Omaha, Mrs. Allan, 323 South Fifty-first avenue, followed by services at St. Margaret Mary’s church at 9. Father E.J. Flanagan will officiate.

Active pallbearers will be L.A. Hickman, R.E. Fee, E.A. Jones, George Jerpe, M.M. Savage and David Allan, of Omaha. The honorary: Judge James Begley of Plattsmouth, E.S. Nickerson and George Miller of Papillion, G.A. Magney, J.E. Curti and S.L. Winters, of Omaha.

The body will be placed in a vault at Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Omaha.
