Pioneer of Sarpy Dies
John H. Miller Passes Away at His Son’s Home in Springfield

Springfield, Neb., March 26 - John H. Miller, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Sarpy county, died at the home of his son, Will, in Springfield, at 7 o’clock this evening. For many months the deceased has been affected with an aggravated form of eczema which finally resulted in his death.

Mr. Miller was born at Aylmer, Can., March 20, 1825, and came to Nebraska with his family in July, 1860, since which time he has continuously resided in Sarpy county. He was a veteran Free Mason, being a member of Nebraska Judge No. 1, besides a member of Springfield Lodge No. 112, A.-of-A.M.

Besides a wife, he leaves two sons, James C., editor of the Springfield Monitor, and Will E., a prominent druggist of this city. Funeral services will be conducted under the auspices of the Masonic order at this place at 10 a.m., Thursday, with interment in Fairview cemetery.
