George Schram Dies At Home Near Gretna
George Schram, 71, wealthy Sarpy county farmer and land owner for the past half century, died suddenly Sunday at his farm home between Springfield and Gretna. He had recently suffered a stroke of paralysis and pneumonia developed.
Mr. Schram was born in Germany and came to America in 1872, settling in Iowa. Four years later he moved to Nebraska. Death came on the forty-sixth anniversary of his wedding. His widow, four sons and three daughters survive. The children are Peter of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; George, Jr., of California and Leonard and Conrad of Papillion; Mrs. Katie Koufeld of California; Mrs. Joseph Tex of Papillion and Miss Maggie Schram, at home.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Patrick’s Catholic church at Gretna. Burial will be in Forest City cemetery near Gretna.
