Margaretta Stender

Mrs. Margaretta Stender died at her home about six miles west of town last Friday evening at about 7 o'clock after an illness of a week says the Times. The deceased was born in Hollingstedt, Schleswig, Germany, October 3, 1861, and came to America on September 28, 1875. She was married to John Stender in 1881, and to this union seven children were born, six of whom survive, four daughters and two sons. She is also survived by two brothers, Franz and Henry Marth. The funeral was held from the late home Monday afternoon, Rev. A. W. Stebert of the German Lutheran church officiating. Interment was in the Mohr cemetery in Richland precinct. Mrs. Stender was highly respected by all who knew her and her untimely death is deeply mourned by all.
