| An independent city. It was orginally part of Ormsby County. In 1969 Ormsby County was merged into Carson City. |
|
| One of the original counties formed in 1861. Fallon is the county seat. |
|
| Formed in 1909 from part of Lincoln County with Las Vegas as the county seat |
|
| An original county formed in 1861 and Menden is the county seat. |
|
| Formed in 1869 from part of Lander County. Elko is the county seat. |
|
| Another of the original counties formed in 1861 with Goldfield as the county seat. |
|
| Formed in 1863 from part of Lander County. Eureka is the county seat. |
|
| Humboldt County is Nevada's oldest county, created by the Utah Territorial Legislature in 1856 and one of Nevada's original nine counties created in 1861. Winnemucca is the county seat of Humboldt county. |

Lake | An original county formed in 1861. Later, the name was changed to Roop County. In 1864 portions became part of Lassen County, CA and portions became part of Washoe County, Nevada. |

| Formed in 1862 from parts of Churchill and Humboldt. Battle Mountain is the county seat. |

| Formed in 1866 from part of Nye County and from Arizona territory. Pioche is the county seat. |

| Another of the original nine counties. Yerington is the county seat. |

| Formed in 1911 from part of Esmeralda County with Hawthorne named the county seat. |

| Nye County ws part of Esmeralda County until 1864. Tonopah is the county seat. |
|
| The youngest county in Nevada. It was formed in 1919 from part of Humboldt county. Lovelock is the county seat. |

| One of the original counties and Virginia City is the county seat. |
